Perranzabuloe… the Parish for all seasons

We welcome you to our website and Parish

Perranzabuloe is a large parish stretching from the A30 to the North Cornish coast. The countryside is varied and beautiful, encompassing woods and flower meadows, quiet valleys and tiny hamlets. The mighty Atlantic Ocean sweeps onto the beach at Perranporth along three miles of golden sand fringed with high dunes. The headlands and cliffs bear the remains of the age of Cornish tinners who burrowed to extract copper, tin and other minerals long ago. In spring and summer flowers are abundant here, pink Thrift, blue Scabious and Squill carpet the cliff tops. Autumn brings spectacular sunsets of fire as it plunges over the horizon. The awesome might of waves clawing and crashing in plumes of foam in a winter gale is an experience.
Every season has charm. Walk our network of parish paths, through woods carpeted with ferns of many varieties, meadows of campion, buttercups and meadowsweet. Hedgerows garlanded with honeysuckle, dog rose and foxglove.
Spend lazy days on the beach, watching the children enjoy rock pools and sandcastles. Be active and hire surfing gear, lessons are available. Perranporth beach is renowned for its surf and there is a thriving surf club. With experience comes all year round surfing and the beach is always active attracting surfers and families from near and far.
Many activities and attractions are on offer. A superb golf course overlooks the village and horse riding is available nearby. Boscawen Gardens has a boating lake and putting green and with a bowling club and tennis courts adjoining it.
There is a good choice of restaurants and pubs in Perranporth and within easy reach some pretty village inns. The shops provide for all your needs, ranging from beach goods to family butchers and bakers.
The huge dune system abutting the beach is an area of special scientific interest and conservation, miniature flowers bloom in spring and summer, butterflies and skylarks are abundant. In winter the dunes are stark and peaceful, but the history of our parish lies beneath.
